MIOW ed.2 is a generously sized hobo bag in soft brown suede. At first glance it reads like a very sensible basic – which, in many ways, it is. Just one of the better kind: as dependable as the little black dress, only in brown and with considerably more room. Here, colour and material take centre stage.
Cognac is one of those socially gifted colours: it gets along with bold tones as easily as with quieter ones, slips into outfits almost unnoticed, and somehow looks as though it has always belonged there. The suede adds its own quiet charm. In this relaxed hobo silhouette it does exactly what it’s meant to do – fall softly, gain character over time, and slowly collect the traces of a life in motion.
Naturally, MIOW ed.2 leaves plenty of room – even for things you hadn’t planned on bringing along. The interior is intentionally unlined; a metallic leather pocket catches the light for a brief moment when you look inside. The result is a bag that feels classic enough to stay for years, yet distinctive enough to be more than simply practical – not least because of the knotted leather zipper pull, a small detail you would miss sooner than you’d expect. The main compartment closes with a zipper. The interior remains deliberately unlined and includes a generous zip pocket for a smartphone, wallet and other essentials. Two smaller zip compartments along the sides provide space for smaller items, one of them featuring an integrated key strap.
Ways to Wear: MIOW ed.2 comes with an adjustable strap and can be worn short or mid-length over the shoulder. At its longest setting it also works crossbody.
If the strap is removed, the carabiners can be clipped together so the bag can still be carried comfortably over the shoulder or in the hand. Leather loops on the sides allow you to attach accessories such as X.LOMI ed.2 or X.LIO ed.1, as well as charms and chains – expanding the bag’s functionality and opening up space for personal combinations.
Combinations: Pairs well with smaller INA KENT styles and accessories. Especially suited: X.LOMI ed.2, X.LIO ed.1, BAG CHARM ed.1–ed.4, as well as the signature key chain BALL’N’CHAIN ed.1. This item is made from high-quality suede leather, defined by its soft, open surface and characteristic nap.
Surface: Finely sanded suede leather with a velvety touch and a lively, matte appearance. Its open structure makes the material breathable, yet more sensitive to moisture, dirt, and friction. Subtle variations in colour, pressure marks, or changes in the nap are natural characteristics that underline the individuality of the leather.
We use only high-quality leather. Still, suede reacts sensitively to external influences. Over time, the surface may evolve, the nap may smooth out or become slightly compacted – a natural process that gives each piece its own character.
As suede leather is untreated, slight colour transfer may occur initially – especially with darker tones and in contact with moisture or friction. This typically decreases over time. Any residue can usually be removed.
To help protect your INA KENT bag, we recommend:
- Before first use, apply a protector specifically developed for suede, such as the Suede Protector by Furniture Clinic. It protects against moisture and stains. Always test on an inconspicuous area first. Reapply regularly – approximately every three months.
- Before each further application, ensure the leather is clean, dry, and free from dust and lint. Gently brush the nap beforehand to lift it and remove surface particles – this helps prevent dirt from being fixed into the material.
- Regular brushing with a soft suede brush keeps the surface clean and maintains its texture.
- For light soiling (e.g. dust or dry dirt), use a suitable suede cleaner and/or a nubuck eraser.
- Avoid contact with water – it may cause stains or so-called “water marks.”
- Heat and direct sunlight can dry out or fade the leather.
- Minimize friction and contact with rough surfaces, as these can alter the nap.
- Light pressure or shine marks are material-typical and part of the natural patina.
- Do not use conventional leather care products (oils or waxes). Avoid contact with colour-transfer materials.
- Storage: keep in a dry, well-ventilated place, ideally in a dust bag (not airtight). For longer storage, loosely fill the bag with silk paper or tissue paper.
- Material-specific: suede changes its appearance depending on light and direction of the nap – this is intentional and part of its living surface.
